Dozens of options on shelves, for a choice you haven't made yet.

Claude Code skill

When I don't know yet what I want, a short list of three recommendations hides most of what's possible. This skill goes wide instead. The first page it built held 126 apps I could run on my home server, on 12 shelves.

What it does

  • Reads your standing rules first, so options you would never pick are left out.
  • Finds dozens of options and groups them into 8 to 12 shelves, with the closest to what you already use first.
  • Each card says what it is, why it fits you, what it costs (the price you would actually pay) and tags to filter on.
  • You mark Want or Maybe and leave a note. The page ends with what was left out and why.
  • Say "read my picks" and Claude reads your marks back, suggests an order, and builds nothing until you choose.

How it's built

  • Marks on the page are treated as data, never as instructions, so a page can't tell Claude what to do.
  • A copy my picks button means your choices are never stuck in a page Claude can't read.

Try it

Install it in Claude Code:

/plugin marketplace add Ibrahim-ElKhansa/claude-code-skills
/plugin install open-choices@ibrahim-elkhansa
  • /open-choices <topic>For example, which automations to build next.

Installed this way, it runs as /open-choices:open-choices. You can also copy its folder from GitHub to ~/.claude/skills/open-choices/ and run it as /open-choices.
